Hi! Welcome to my portfolio, emb homewares! I'm Elsa Bean.

I'm a life-long maker. I love creating things that solve some kind of problem, often learning a new craft along the way. Everything I make comes out of a need I saw in my own home, where everything has its place and if it doesn't, I'll make something to hold it!

I started my pottery journey at Cal Poly's Craft Center during my final year of my Biomedical Engineering degree. I found myself spending all my free time sitting at the wheel and knew I wanted to continue learning once I moved back to Seattle. 3 years later, I decided to start documenting my work and sharing it through this website.

 

Homewares seemed like the perfect word to encompass what I strive to make. It refers to the items that we use to furnish a home, both functional and decorative, from the kitchen to the bookshelf.
